Learn - Informed citizens is the first cornerstone of community. To inform yourself and then to act builds community.
Connect - Strong connections is the second cornerstone of community. The more people we are connected to, the more support we have, the more protected we are.
Trust - Trust is the third cornerstone of community. The measure of trust we place in our neighbors, our elected officials, our public servants affects our perceived quality of life.
Act - Get involved and be the fourth cornerstone of community. Civic activity builds community.
Communities where people are informed about current events, where there are strong connections, where there is trust, and where civic activity is high are communities that we want to live in. These are communities that have a good quality of life. Focusing on only one of these activities is not enough. They must be done together and in abundance.
We started this website because we truly believe that a community that is well informed and curious, a community where its citizens are connected to each other, a community built on trust and conversation, and (most importantly) a community that has a high level of civic participation is a community we want to live in. This is our mission. This is our hometown. This is our Gilbert.
